Traditional Spray Grit creates functional texture by applying and curing a grit-containing coating over the printed paddle face. Its main tradeoff is that a surface-applied grit coating generally changes faster with repeated contact and abrasion than WERiDON's molded or grit-infused systems.

Peel Ply (Cloth-Texture) Matte Finish (Peel Ply)
Peel Ply creates texture by molding a defined peel-ply cloth pattern into the resin-rich paddle face during hot pressing. After curing, the cloth is removed and its raised-and-recessed pattern remains on the surface. This controlled texture-transfer method supports repeatable bulk production.
WERiDON offers Coarse Grit Peel Ply and Fine Grit Peel Ply. In these names, Coarse Grit and Fine Grit describe the transferred texture grade; they do not mean that abrasive particles are sprayed onto or added to the paddle face.

5. Surface Friction, Hand Feel and Spin
A rougher hand feel does not automatically mean a finished paddle will produce a proportionally higher measured spin result. Surface friction and texture influence paddle-ball interaction, but spin also depends on the complete paddle platform and standardized impact conditions.

Surface Material describes the composite face material, such as T700 carbon fiber, fiberglass, or aramid fiber. Surface Finish describes how the final functional outer texture is created. The two should be specified separately.
B. Is Raw Carbon Fiber the same as Peel Ply?
No. Raw Carbon Fiber generally describes the carbon-fiber face material or how that face is marketed. Peel Ply describes the molded cloth-texture finish formed during curing. Many paddles marketed as raw carbon fiber use Peel Ply, but the terms are not interchangeable.
C. Does a rougher paddle surface always create more spin?
No. Hand feel alone is not a reliable spin ranking. The final result also depends on the complete paddle platform and applicable test conditions.
